Direct2Vet Pty Ltd (“Direct2Vet”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates a browser-based communication and transaction platform for the veterinary ecosystem. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Direct2Vet Chrome browser extension (“Extension”) and our web application accessible at app.direct2vet.com.au (“Platform”), collectively referred to as the “Service”.

Information Captured by the Extension
The Direct2Vet Extension operates by reading data displayed on your browser screen (DOM parsing) from authorised web-based systems such as practice management software, insurance portals, supplier portals, and related platforms. This may include:

Authorised Providers

We use SOC 2 compliant third-party service providers (such as ActiveCampaign for communications, AWS/GCP for hosting, and similar platforms) to operate the Service. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Legal Compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction.

We take the security of your data seriously. Direct2Vet implements the following measures:
Encryption in Transit
All data transmitted between the Extension, the Platform, and third-party providers is encrypted using TLS 1.3.
Encryption at Rest
Sensitive data stored in our databases is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
Third-Party Infrastructure
We do not store personal data on self-managed servers. Data is processed and stored within SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud infrastructure providers (such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform) and SOC 2 compliant SaaS platforms (such as ActiveCampaign).
Access Controls
Role-based access controls (RBAC) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) restrict data access to authorised personnel only.
Audit Logging
All data access and transaction events are logged for security monitoring and compliance.
While we implement industry-standard security measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to protect your account credentials and report any suspected security issues to [email protected].
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Transaction records and audit logs may be retained for up to seven (7) years to meet regulatory and compliance requirements. The Direct2Vet Extension requests the following browser permissions:
activeTab
To read data from the currently active browser tab when you initiate a Direct2Vet action. This permission is only used on authorised provider domains.
storage
To securely store your authentication tokens and extension preferences locally on your device.
background
To maintain a persistent connection for real-time claim status updates and notifications.
Host Permissions (specific provider domains)
To enable DOM data capture from authorised practice management systems, insurance portals, and supplier platforms only.
The Extension does not access browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, or any data outside the specifically authorised provider domains listed in the Extension manifest.
The Platform (app.direct2vet.com.au) may use cookies and similar technologies for session management, authentication, and analytics. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
The Service is designed for use by veterinary professionals, clinic staff, and authorised business users. It is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside of Australia where our cloud infrastructure providers maintain servers (including the United States). We ensure that any international transfer of data is subject to appropriate safeguards consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on our website and, where appropriate, by email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
